Finding Jésus in Zaragoza – Part 2

As the coach drew up to the station, I felt sick to my stomach, wishing I hadn’t engaged in click crazed, boozed-up ticket shopping the night before. Walking down the steps, my long one shoulder Grecian dress catching the hot July breeze, Jésus was there to greet me, a beautiful blazing sunbeam of delight; gold-framed 80s shades, a vintage Hawaiian shirt and Castañer espadrilles. From the second we set eyes on each other, it felt like meeting an old friend; relief, ease, warmth and desire swept through me like a shooting star.

He took my bag, and we started walking to his home, ten minutes away.  Waiting to cross the road he pulled me closer and we kissed, his black hair falling through my fingers like silk. It was one of those summer kisses, rich with promise, heady with the scent of orange blossoms, a cool refuge from the burning heat of the midday sun. I loved his voice, his thick Spanish accent, his handsome angular face, his eyes shining like oil wells, his sculpted muscular body.

At his apartment, he showed me his drawings of fantasy figures, mermaids and angels, which he also painted onto denim jeans and jackets. It was a little like talking to a mirror! I adored his childlike enchantment with the world – something we shared. We went straight to the bedroom and didn’t move far the whole weekend, falling deep into the rabbit hole of connection, collision, music, laughter, ecstasy. He asked if I was interested in Tantra. My beautiful tantric lover of Zaragoza.
