The great loves of our lives don’t always come in the form of a marital or romantic partner, sometimes it’s our true friends who are the ones that hold our hands and hearts through the ups and downs of this human life; staying for the long haul, going the distance.
The pandemic has been a potent truth serum for friendships. Over and over again I am having the same conversation with everyone in my circle. Some friendships have suddenly fallen away like a hot knife through butter, others have plateaued, or gently faded, whilst a few have strengthened in a way that gives you a sense of the indestructible. The pandemic has certainly been a PHD in discerning who your fair-weather friends are.
One of the great hopes for the future survival (or ‘thrival’) of the planet and the human race is living in smaller, self-sustaining communities. My feeling is that rather than these communities taking a physical form (which some of them may) they will be ‘energetic’ communities. Matter coalesces around frequency after all. Those whose values and soul signatures are aligned will be naturally drawn together. These might take the form of online groups/communities, souls drawn together in the ethers!
A lot has changed since the beginning of the pandemic, so it’s only natural that our relationships will change too. Accept and surrender rather than trying to hold on to people whose energy doesn’t align with your own anymore. As Socrates said, ‘The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new. ‘ By holding onto friendships that don’t feel 100% authentic or genuine you might be blocking new connections coming in.
Our energy is precious, time is precious and both exist in finite amounts. Who you share your heart & soul with is one of the biggest determining factors of the quality and calibre of your life.
What wants to come let it come and what wants to go let it go.
