We are living through exceptional times so exceptionally this week rather than sharing a love story I would like to share a piece of my heart with you. I want to extend a loving hand if you feel lost, if the hope in your heart is waning, if your faith in your dreams is difficult to hold on to. When life dashes your efforts; I see you, I feel you, I love you.
2020 is not a time for stoically undertaking a solo trip up the mountain. We can’t do this part alone, so be brave and speak your truth, connect and share. It’s OK if there is pain….pain is the other side of joy. Sometimes we may ask ourselves how can we keep going, why should we keep trying? There is no end goal, no final destination. The journey IS the destination. It is an inevitable fact of life that we will all experience disappointment and divergences; plans, relationships, dreams that didn’t go exactly as we had intended or envisioned. Attachment to plans can cause us a lot of pain. As one of my favourite teachers Wayne Dyer said;
“Having a plan isn’t necessarily unhealthy, but falling in love with the plan is a real neurosis…don’t let your plan become bigger than you are.”
The ego is always seeking to separate, to categorise, to judge, whereas the heart gently nudges us to unite, to soothe, to accept, to surrender. We all have that little devilish voice in our heads castigating us when things don’t turn out as we had planned. Our work must be to silence that sneaky voice and replace it instead with the soothing reassurance of our heart, our soul’s voice. We can congratulate ourselves for having the courage to open ourselves up to trying that new relationship, work project or business venture, birthing something into the world that you’ve been dreaming of your whole life. If you never, try you’ll never know.
The most common regret from Bonnie Ware’s moving book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying is;
“I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”
When making decisions however big or small, this sentence echoes in my consciousness clear as a bell. So beauties, I wish you courage, the courage to tread this earth softly, to follow your soul’s call, to be a love warrior.
